Happy second week of the new year! I hope your first week of 2023 went off without a hitch.
It has now been 2 years since I started my journey of a new lifestyle with fasting! When I started this journey, I started seeing myself as who I was becoming and am today, not as the overweight version of myself I had been all my life. My mindset changed, my habits changed, and my taste buds changed. I often crave whole foods now, healthy foods and less junk food. I also exercise more, although that did not come into play until I had been fasting for over a year. My attitude is generally positive all the time which was a huge change that absolutely needed to happen.
Being that this is my two-year anniversary I wanted to start this year off with a tip of the day. I would like to add a tip of the day with every post I have going forward.
Today’s tip – Drink Water! Water consumption as we know is a key to living. Water helps you feel full. If you think you are hungry, drink at least a glass of water. If you are still hungry after 30 minutes but you are fasting and your fast is not over yet, take a walk and drink more water. If your fast is over, consider having a snack and breaking your fast. I generally drink a minimum of a gallon of water a day. I did not start out drinking a full gallon a day. I worked up to that point as a kept fasting. I found my body craved the water and it truly does help me a lot with fasting. Another water trick – I drink seltzer water as well, unflavored of course. The carbonation seems to help when I am feeling extra hungry during a fast. So, drink water. Don’t be shy, if you’re feeling thirsty drink away. If you’re feeling hungry, drink away. Water is your friend – fasting or not!
Lastly, I hope you were able to end 2022 strong and start 2023 off with a bang. Stay positive, remember your vision of you at your goal. Stay strong, take it one day, hour, minute at a time. Remember nothing is easy and it will take work, but YOU are worth it! Build that fasting muscle one day at a time!
