Hello again and welcome to March. Wait… March?
If you’re new here, let me refresh your memory. I’m a guy who lost 119 pounds in a little over a year following an intermittent fasting lifestyle. I started in January of 2021 and have been maintaining weight for about a year now. Intermittent fasting truly changed my life. I still live the lifestyle today averaging 19 hour fasts but they vary from 19 to 28 hours each day, depending on how busy I am or what is going with life. I no longer base my life around food. That is a power in itself. I used to eat and think what’s the next meal and when. Now I eat to be satisfied and don’t worry about it again until the next day when I am hungry.
Speaking of hungry – is that growl you feel truly hunger? Sometimes I get that rumble. I used to just feed it when it happened. Intermittent fasting taught me to look at that rumble differently. Now, when I get that rumble I have some water. I give it 30 minutes and if I am truly hungry I will know by then and make my food choices – as long as I have met my fasting goals. I feel like it’s a game for me, to see how long I can go. Some days it’s really easy, other days it’s a struggle. You take the good with the bad, you know?
Goals – How’s your progress? Are you still pushing ahead one day at a time? One good choice after another? If things have gotten harder, that’s ok. If it was easy, everyone would do it. If you started intermittent fasting in January, hopefully you’re well on your way and found that “groove” and it is no problem each day for you now. Once you build that fasting muscle it becomes so much easier. Keep pushing, keep crushing it.
Take each day one second, minute, hour, day at a time. All you need is one good decision to keep building good decisions on. Keep your head up, smile and realize nothing is perfect.
Until Next time, enjoy that coffee!
