Good Morning! Here we are, the last 2 days of the month. How do you feel it went? What were the positive take-aways? How about the negatives, we can’t forget them too. Let’s grab a coffee and take a minute to look back, reflect and make a plan to keep moving forward.
For me – January was a great month. Back on track quickly after the holidays, returning to normal feel. I have been averaging 21-24 hour fasts daily. We an the first 2 races of the year, improving my time with both races. I have already signed up for my next race – a 4 miler. I’ve never run a 4 miler before so the challenge is there and ready to be taken. We had a run of back to back snow storms last week which meant plenty of time spent in the plow truck – hence my absence of posting here.
To keep the legs moving, yesterday we tried our first winter hike. It was about 4 miles round trip. The trail had already been broken which meant the hiking was easier then having to wear our snow shoes. This being our first winter hike, our packs were much heavier than we were used to because of all the extra gear we brought. I will need a better pack for winter hiking. All in time. Our new boots worked out great though, and that was one of the bigger worries. All in all, January was a great month.
Lastly as we get to the end of January – some advice and tips. It’s never to late to start. It’s never to late to try something new. Being uncomfortable means you’re on the right path to making positive changes.
Continue to work on you. Continue to follow your plan. This is not a race. This is a journey. It will not happen fast, consistency will win this race. 2023 is shaping up to be a great year, let’s crush it!
